Harry O. Power, age 79, Rising Sun (formerly of Bright)

Harry O. Power, age 79, of Rising Sun, Indiana, formerly of Bright, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, in Edgewood, Kentucky. He was born the son of Harry and Charlotte (Preising) Power on March 25, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

A 1963 graduate of Mt. Healthy High School, Harry went on to serve his country in the United States Navy as a Seabee deployed with Mobile Battalion #6 in Vietnam and in Gitmo.  He married the late Tina Ellis on August 31, 1990, in Sunman, Indiana.  He had attended the Cleves Prebyterian Church as well as the Bright Christian Church, and served as a member of the VFW Post 7570 in Harrison, and the Harrison Honor Guard. He was also a member of Teamsters Local #1. Harry worked for Roadway Express as a truckdriver and formerly worked for Standard Publishing.  In his free time, he enjoyed football, basketball, and track.

Harry is survived by his loving children, Amy Collins, David Power, Ashley (Josh Ratcliff) Power, and Alexiea (Jack) Loomis, his grandchildren Shyanna Collins, Alyssa Collins, Cyera Power, Everlie Loomis, Arabella, Jasmine, and Jude Ratcliff. Also surviving are his brother, Karl (Georgana) Power, Harry’s fiancé, Debbie Pittman, and step-daughter, Heather Pittman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Charlotte Power and his wife Tina Power.

A visitation will be held in honor of Harry on Sunday, August 18, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home, 215 East Broadway Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. also at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home, with Pastor Greg Edens presiding. A burial with military honors by the United States Navy and Harrison Honor Guard will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens, 2145 Compton Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231.
