Harold Louis Newmann, 86, of Aurora, IN, passed away Friday, February 26, 2016.
He was born Thursday, June 20, 1929 in Aurora, Indiana, son of the late Frank William Herbert Newmann and the late Martha A. Peters Newmann.
Harold worked as a mechanic for Monsanto retiring after over 35 years of service, but his true passion was farming.
He was a Life Member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Aurora where he served as an elder for 2 terms and he attended school there through the 8th grade. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years and he also liked to operate heavy equipment, which he did for Keith Dills for a number of years. Harold loved to farm, he was a dairy man and was very active in the Artificial Breeders Association. But Harold was the happiest when he was on the tractor, ATV or skid loader on his 80 acre farm.
Surviving are his wife, Polly Anne Newmann; children, Bonnie (Stephen) Mendell, John (Cathy) Newmann and Judy (Doug) Cox all of Aurora, IN; brother, Elvin (Helen) Newmann of Aurora, IN; grandchildren, Liza (Matt) Parrott, Kelly (Pat) Marcum, Matthew (Lindsay) Newmann, Mark (Hollye) Newmann, Erin (Mike) Moreland, Emily (Steve) Rose; as well as 15 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Delver and sister, Romelda Olson.
Friends will be received 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Monday, February 29, 2016 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 220 Mechanic Street, Aurora, Indiana.
Services will be held at the Church on Tuesday, at 11:00 am with Pastor Edward A. Davis officiating.
Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, IN 47001.
