Harold Glenn Baxter Jr., 64, of Dillsboro passed away Friday, May 14, 2021 at Hospice of St. Elizabeth Edgewood, Kentucky. Harold was born to Harold and Edna (Weiss) Baxter Sr. in Milan, Indiana on Friday, November 2, 1956. He married Kathryn Green on June 15, 1974 at the First Baptist Church of Dillsboro. Harold worked for Bigg’s, Super Value, Remke Market now owned by Fresh Encounters for 30 years in Corporate Maintenance doing refrigeration and HVAC. He was a member of the Moores Hill Church of Christ. Harold enjoyed being outdoors, whether he was camping, hunting, riding his ATV, or just tinkering in his garage. He absolutely loved rides on his Harley and loved anything John Deere. He had a great love for his dogs. Harold had an unconditional love for his family.
Harold is survived by his wife Kathryn “Katie” Baxter, of nearly 47 years of Dillsboro; son Justin Baxter of Dillsboro; daughter Rachel (Bill) Baker of Dillsboro; Mother Edna Baxter of Dillsboro; brothers Gary (Judi) Baxter of Dillsboro and Jeffrey (Chasity) Baxter of Milan; sisters Gloria Baxter of Dillsboro and Peggy Jo Baxter (John) Richards of Florence, Kentucky; three grandchildren: Tyra, Tyler, and Tylee Baker. Harold was preceded in death by his father Harold Baxter Sr.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember Harold from 5 until 8 PM on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Moores Hill Church of Christ, 13567 State Road 350, Moores Hill, IN 47032. A service will be held at 10 AM on Friday, May 21, 2021 also at the Moores Hill Church of Christ with Tito Pel officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery in Dillsboro. Memorials may be given in honor of Harold to P.A.W.S. of Dearborn County or to the Moores Hill Church of Christ.
