Tyrese Haliburton is opening up after tearing his Achilles in Game 7 of the NBA Finals. The Pacers point guard posted from his hospital bed in New York, where he had surgery Monday night.
He shared a photo making a heart with his hands, thanking fans for their support (pictured).
In a long message on social media, Haliburton said the injury hit him hard. He called it frustrating and heartbreaking, especially after working his whole life to reach that moment. He said his foot feels like “dead weight” and admitted the mental part is what’s hurting most.
Still, he’s focused on the fight ahead.
“At 25, I’ve learned that God doesn’t give us more than we can handle,” he wrote. “Even with a torn Achilles, I’d do it all again for this team and this city.”
He apologized to fans and promised to come back stronger—not just physically, but as a person.
“You all have my back, and I’ve got yours,” he said, quoting Kobe Bryant and saying he’s ready to put in the work to return. “Watch how I come back from this.”
Haliburton ended his post by thanking everyone who’s supported him and shared a Bible verse about trusting God through hard times.
He was seen in a wheelchair getting off the team plane early Monday morning when the Pacers returned to Indianapolis.
