The following are high school track recaps from Tuesday, May 3. There may be updates, so please check back.
Greensburg won both Decatur County Championships. The Pirate boys posted 79 points. South Decatur scored 52 and North Decatur had 25. On the girls side, it was Greensburg with 88, South 47 and North 21.
Greensburg individual county champions included two each by Emarie Jackson and Elizabeth Mitchell and one apiece from Genevieve Smith, Samantha Smith, Victoria Gauck, Emily Mangels, Tiffani Gramman, Matthew Stewart, Cameron Schwartz, Brayden Forkert, Jonathon Ralston, Lucas Scheumann, Jacob Hawkins and Tyler Biddinger.
Jackson broke both county throwing records. She tossed 43’6-1/2” in the shot and 127’ even in the discus. And Mitchell set a new county mark in the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.1.
South Decatur champs featured two by McKinley Shook and one each from Kelby Shook, Maria Nobbe and Paige Hibberd.
North Decatur county titles came from Ellis Loehmer with two and Hope Barker with one.
The Greensburg girls won two of three relays while the boys swept all three. South picked up a relay title in the girls 400. (More details follow the recaps.)

Connersville split a dual meet with Hagertown. The CHS boys won by two while the Lady Spartans came up short.
Connersville double individual winners were Parker Sweet and Lexi Barr. Micah Buchanan, Dustin McCarrell, Brayden Jones, Katelyn Seely, Raykaya Dixon and Paige Dafler all grabbed one blue ribbon. The boys 400 and 1600 relays were winners as the 1600 foursome on the girls side. (More details follow the recaps.)

North Decatur’s Andrew Hocker-
- In the field events, Kaden Gahimer placed third in discus with a PR and distance of 115’8.” In shot put, Charlie Kramer placed 4th with a distance of 39′.
- In high jump, Ellis Loehmer got 1st place with a height of 6′ cleared, while Mason Morris got a new PR height of 5’10” and placed 2nd.
- In long jump, Conner Linkmeyer placed 2nd with a new PR distance of 19’5.”
- While the North Boys placed 3rd in all of the relays, all three got a new PR.
- The boys 4x100m relay got a PR of 48.3. The 4×100 team consisted of Conner Linkmeyer, Kaleb Phelps, Mason Morris, and Marshal Snell.
- The boys 4×400 relay got a PR of 3:55.8. The 4×400 team consisted of Owen Geis, Mason Demitt, Mason Morris, and Marshal Snell.
- The boys 4x800m relay got a PR of 10:35.4. The 4×800 team consisted of Mason Demitt, Kaleb Phelps, Ryan Hancock, and Noah Weisenbach.
Congratulations to all our relay teams on new season PR’s.
- In the 110m hurdles, Ellis Loehmer placed 2nd with a time and new PR of 16.5.
- In the 300m hurdles, Ellis Loehmer placed first with a time of 45.5.
- In the 400m dash, Owen Geis placed 3rd with a time and PR of 57.7.
- In the 200m dash, Mason Morris placed 4th with a time and new PR of 25.2.
- The Boy’s next track meet will be our senior night on Thursday, May 5. Come out and support our senior track athletes at 4:30.

Connersville’s Jeff Cooley- The boys track and field team defeated Hagerstow Tuesday Night 56-54. Parker Sweet was a double winner on the night. Parker won the 110 and 300 hurdles. Micah Buchanan won the 200. Dustin McCarrell won the discus.The 4×100 team of (Sweet DeBoard Buchanan Branstetter) were winners. The 4×400 team Of (Sweet Baker Isaac Peterson ) won . Brayden Jones won the high jump. The next meet for the team is Friday at Greenfield Central.
The Girls track and field team lost in a dual meet to Hagerstown last night. Lexi Barr won the 100 and 300 hurdles. Katelyn Seeley won the 400. Raykaya Dixon won the 800. Paige Dafler won the 3200. The 4×400 team of (Creech Barr Soriano Dixon) were first place. The next meet for the team is Friday at Greenfield Central.
