H.S. track recaps from Tuesday, April 26

The following are high school track recaps from Tuesday, April 26,  There may be updates, so please check back.

Batesville hosted a quad meet with Jac-Cen-Del, North Decatur and Hauser.  The Bulldogs won both.  The Lady Eagles and Jet boys finished second.

Girls team scores- Batesville 121, Jac-Cen-Del 53, North Decatur 34 and Hauser 20.

Boys team scores- Batesville 122, Hauser 47, North Decatur 45 and Jac-Cen-Del 23.

Batesville won all but seven events.  The Dogs Eli Pierson won three individual blues while Veronica King, Benjamin Moster and Chase Hamilton claimed two each.  Other wins were scored by Lily Meyer, Madelyn Pohlman, Katie Olsen, Kaylie Raver, Kaylynn Bedel, Emma Weiler, Nadine Davis, Jake Chapman, Decon Hamilton, Alex Murphy and all six relay teams.

Cloey Simon won a pair of events for the Eagles and Kayla Simon claimed one.  North’s Madi Allen and Ellis Loehmer also picked up a victory.

East Central was second in both tri meets won by host Columbus North.  The Lady Trojans were just one point behind C-North (81-80) while the Bull Dog boys won comfortably over EC (100-51).  Shelbyville was a distant third in both.

East Central individual winners included two each by Hope Fox, Leo Maxwell and Ellie Hill.  Also taking home a first were Tyler Carr, Emma Wilhelm, Riley Smith, the girls and boys 400 relays and the girls and boys 1600 relays.

South Ripley hosted a three-way meet with Milan and Rising Sun. The Lady Raiders and Lady Indians went one-two in the girls meet while Milan and Ripley went one-two in the boys.

Girls team scores- South Ripley 83, Milan 40 and Rising Sun 15.

Boys team scores- Milan 65, South Ripley 57 and Rising Sun 32.

South Ripley reported individual winners included two each from Emily Flood, Shelby Bastin, Alexa Yeomans, William Tunney and Ryan Miller. Teammates Lanie Nicholson, Emily Campbell and Renee Tunny collected a top finish as did the Lady Raiders 400 and 3200 relay teams.  (More information follows the recaps.)

Batesville’s Lisa Gausman-  It was a pretty pleasant night for a track meet. It got a little chilly as the sun was going down, but no rain and low winds is always a plus. The Batesville Bulldogs hosted North Decatur, Jac-Cen-Del and Hauser and came away with two victories. The girls scored 121 points with Jac-Cen-Del coming in 2nd at 53 points. North Decatur was 3rd-34 and Hauser 4th with 20. On the boys side, Batesville scored 122 with Hauser just beating North Decatur 47-45. Jac-Cen Del was 4th scoring 23 points.

Overall Batesville took the blue ribbons in 25 events for the evening and many individuals were a part of this victory. They were:

North Decatur’s Ashley Dillon- The Lady Chargers traveled to Batesville, Tuesday evening for a 4-way meet. Field events started the evening off, Madi Allen placed 1st in high jump with 4’6”. Ella Kunz placed 2nd in discus with a distance of 83’2” and 4th in shot put with a distance of 25’4.5”. Skyla Wade placed 5th in shot put with a distance of 24’10.25”. Hope Barker took 4th in th 100M and 200M dash. Gracie Osting placed 4th in the 400M run. Jenna Walton took 2nd in the 800M run and 3rd in the 1600M run. Jozlyn Cathey placed 4th in 100M hurdles. The 4x100M team (Allen,Kunz,Hersley, and Barker) relay took 2nd.

North Decatur’s Andrew Hocker- North Decatur Boys track team finishes 3rd at Batesville.

  • In shot put, Charlie Kramer placed 2nd with a new PR of 39′, while Caiden Gahimer finished 4th with a distance of 38’9″.
  • In discus, Charlie Kramer placed 5th with a distance of 106.
  • In high jump, Elis Loehmer placed first with a height of 5’10” and Mason Morris placed third with a height of 5’6″.
  • In long jump, Conner Linkmeyer placed second with a new PR if 18’10.”
  • Now to the relays, North Decatur finished third in the 4x800m relay, with a time of 10:45.
  • In the 4x400m relay, North finished third with a time of 4:11.
  • And in the 4x100m relay, North finished second with a time of 49.55.
  • In the 300m hurdles, Ellis Loehmer placed 5th with a time of 48.51.
  • In the 110m hurdles, Ellis Loehmer placed 2nd with a time of 17.66 and Mason Demett placed 6th with a time of 23.5.
  • In the 3200m run, Noah Weisenbach placed 4th with a time of 14:16.
  • In the 800m run, Noah Weisenbach placed 4th with a time of 2:33.
  • In the 200m sprint, Mason Morris placed 2nd with a new PR of 25.91.
  • And lastly, in the 100m dash, Conner Linkmeyer finished 4th with a time of 12.41.

The Charger’s next meet is 4/28/22 at South Decatur.
