The following are high school softball recaps from Wednesday, April 20. All games are varsity unless noted otherwise. There may be updates, so please check back.
South Ripley and Rising Sun were locked in a pitcher’s dual through six scoreless innings.
The visiting Raiders Brooklyn Brown doubled and scored in the top of the seventh on an RBI by Morgan Meyers. But the single run was not enough as Rising Sun struck twice in the home seventh to win 2-1.
Brown, Mady Tompkins and Ellie Waldron all had two hits for the Raiders. Tamryn Miller and Allyson Simpson each had a pair of hits for the Shiners.
Tompkins and Cora Poling pitched complete games for their respective clubs and both fanned five hitters.

Hard to believe it was a 1-1 game through 5-1/2 innings, but it ended in six as North Decatur scored 10 runs in the home sixth to defeat Edinburgh 11-1. The Chargers had just four hits but also benefitted from five walks and five Lancer errors.
Keesha Crosland led the Chargers with a single, double and four RBI. Crosland also pitched a complete game with 12 strikeouts, two hits and three walks. Teammate Raegan Nobbe doubled and drove in a pair of runs while Kaylin Muckerhide had one ribbie and a single.

Franklin County was an 8-1 winner at South Dearborn.
The Wildcats Kassidy Schell logged a four-hit game. Kensee Ferman and Brooke Stang both had three. Stang also notched a couple of ribbies. Both Kiersten Schell and Maci Lake recorded two hits. Lake drove in two runs and Schell had one RBI. KK Ferman struck out five Knights and sat down five in the complete-game victory.
