H.S. softball recaps from Saturday, May 14

The following are high school softball recaps from Saturday, May 14.  All games are varsity unless noted otherwise.  There may be updates, so please check back.

Franklin County Invitational (tournament was not completed due to weather)

Franklin County beat Eastern Hancock 5-2.

For the Wildcats, Maci Lake doubled and homered with two RBI.  Bailey Kaiser also collected two ribbies.  Brooke Stang had a pair of base hits.  KK Ferman struck out seven and walked none in the win.

Franklin County topped North Decatur 8-5.

FC’s Kiersten Schell doubled with two RBI.  Lake singled and doubled with a ribbie.  KK Ferman, Kensee Ferman, Stang and Josie Rolfes each plated a run.  Bree Bischoff got the win and KK Ferman closed out the seventh for the save.

ND’s Kennedy Stier and Sarah Swain both booked two hits.  Swain had a double and batted in a pair of runs.  Kennedy Stier and Kayln Muckerhide both had an RBI.

The Chargers lost 11-1 to the Royals.  ND had only four this.  Baegan Nobbe and Macy Scudder both doubled.

Rushville defeated South Dearborn 4-1 in game one of a double header.

The Lions Briley Munchel had two hits and one RBI.  Kara Chandler and Kylie Gray also had a ribbie.  Chandler pitched a complete game with eight strikeouts against two walks.

The Knights Kyra Labazzo fanned 15 in the loss.

SD won the second game 12-9.  Riley Lagaly homered late in the action to provide the go ahead runs for the Aurora ladies.
