H.S. baseball recaps from Tuesday, May 10

It was Youth League Night at Liberty Park for Batesville’s varsity baseball game with Hauser. The high school players signed autographs for the kids after the game. Batesville Baseball photo via Twitter @BatesvilleBB.

The following are high school baseball recaps from Tuesday, May 10.  All games are varsity unless noted otherwise.  There may be updates, so please check back.

Batesville was a 12-2 winner over Hauser.

The Bulldogs Charlie Schebler had a four-RBI game with two doubles.  Jack Grunkemeyer and Max Baumer both knocked in two runs on a single and double each.  Levi Gollmer had two hits for the Jets.  Simeon Wasil doubled with an RBI.

Jac-Cen-Del was on the short end of a 12-2 decision against Shawe.

The Hilltoppers got three hits and two RBI from Philip Kahn, two hits and two ribbies from Hunter Kennett and a pair of singles with one RBI from Jacob Hertz.  Kennett pitched a complete game and struck out 10.

Landon Comer and Justin Swinney both had two hits for the Eagles.  Comer plated a run.

Connersville shut out Rushville 6-0.  CHS pitcher Brayden Lykins allowed just five hits and struck out nine.

Lykins helped himself at the plate with two hits and two RBI.  Teammate Braxton Myers singled twice.

Harley Fuller had a couple of hits for the Lions.

North Decatur defeated Southwestern Shelby 7-2 in eight innings.  ND scored five times in the extra frame.

Nate O’Dell carded three hits for the Chargers and teammate James Evans recorded two.  Ty Litmer went the distance on the bump for the victory.

The Batesville JV beat Whiteland 7-4.  The Dogs scored five in the second frame.

Alex Krekeler cracked a two-run tater.  Carter Bohman had a trio of hits and ribbies to match and also pitched three shutout innings.

East Central topped South Dearborn 5-1.

Sam Bond led EC at the plate with two hits and two RBI.  Eli Aston also posted two singles while Brayden Rouse and Carson Koelling had one hit and one RBI.

The Knights were limited to just three hits by Trojan pitcher Sam Huston who struck out 15 and walked none.  Corbin McHenry singled and scored SD’s only run.
