H.S. baseball recaps from Saturday, May 14

The following are high school baseball recaps from Saturday, May 14.  All games are varsity unless noted otherwise.  There may be updates, so please check back.

Batesville continues to inch closer to a conference championship.  The Bulldogs improved their league record to 12-0 with a 6-3 victory over Lawrenceburg.

BHS only had four hits. One was a solo homer by Jacob Meer.  Zach Wade and Jack Grunkmeyer also drove in a run each.

Charlie Schebler and Will Jaisle held the Tigers to just five hits.  Schebler went six innings and struck out eight for the win.  Jaisle fanned three and picked up the seventh inning save.

Andrew Myers batted in two for the Tigers who only had five hits.

Batesville can win the EIAC outright with a victory at home against South Dearborn Monday.

North Decatur lost a 3-2 decision to Rising Sun.

All three Shiner runs came in the third inning on a home run by Jonathan Jimenez.  ND countered with two in the fifth on hits by Reid Messer and Nolan Burkhart.

Dylan Martin got the win for the Sun and teammate Brady Works collected the save.

Jac-Cen-Del fell 9-1 to Southwestern Hanover.  The Rebels cliched a tie for the ORVC championship.

Rebel pitcher Jordan DeAtley struck out 13 and wolked three in the win. He gave up only three hits, one of which was an RBI double to the Eagles Justin Swinney.

For the Hanover boys at the plate, William Stockdale singled and tripled with two RBI.  Teammate Jameson Lewis doubled and singled.  Barron Welsh and Adam Traylor both batted in a run.

Connersville lost both games of a double dip to New Palestine.

In an 8-0 game one loss, CHS had just three hits.  Chanler Fox and Brayden Lykins both doubled.

New Pal pitcher Eli Bruns struck out eight and walked three.

The Dragons beat the Spartans 10-4 in game two.

The Fayette County boys had just five hits in this one.  Chance Bentley, Gavin Lynch and Aaron Kidd all had a two bagger.
