(Madison, IN) – A Dearborn County man is facing several felony charges following his arrest in Madison last week.
The Madison Police Department says 55-year-old Thomas Lyons II of Guilford was pulled over as part of a traffic stop on State Road 62 when an officer deployed his K-9 partner to conduct an open-air sniff around the vehicle.
Investigators say after the K-9 gave a positive “hit” on the vehicle, a probable cause search was conducted, which resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine, controlled substances, narcotics, paraphernalia, and a handgun reported stolen from Kentucky in the vehicle.
Lyons is charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon (Level 4 felony); Possession of Methamphetamine; Theft (both Level 5 felonies); Possession of a Legend Drug (Level 6 felony); Possession of a Scheduled Controlled Substance; Possession of a Firearm by a Domestic Batterer, and Possession of Paraphernalia (all Class A misdemeanors).
