Gregory A. Cantwell

Gregory Allen Cantwell, 57, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019 in Houston, Texas.

He was born September 22, 1961 in Frankfort, Germany, son of Franklin C. Cantwell and the late Christina “Teany” (Sellers) Cantwell.

During his high school years, Greg and his dad Frank owned and operated Schwanholt Service Station and Wrecker Service for several years. He then worked for Fernald Uranium Plant for 23 years. Greg then went on to work in wind and solar construction for 11 years, on projects all across the US. The last 5 years he was the Senior Site Manager for Bradley Construction Management Company overseeing all facets of commercial wind projects.
Greg was a quiet and very respected man that would help anyone out whenever he could. He enjoyed deer hunting, wood working, fixing cars, home improvement projects and playing cards. He had a tremendous love of all types of music and did sound engineering for his daughter’s band as well as others, including recording demos for them. He enjoyed watching wildlife, visiting US National Parks and playing with the family dog, Ollie.
Greg’s job took him away from home for extended periods of time and he cherished the time with his family. He especially loved being Pops to Alex and Hazel. He was a great husband, dad, grandpa, brother, friend and coworker and he will be greatly missed by those who knew him.

Gregory is survived by his loving spouse of 40 years, Bonnie (Bawn) Cantwell, daughter, Sarah (Jon) Baker of Cincinnati, OH; father, Franklin Cantwell; sister, Melodie Tibbits of Aurora, IN; grandchildren, Alex & Hazel Baker; nephews, Jeremy (Melissa) Tibbits, Justin (Angi) Tibbits, Roger (Kelly) Casebolt, Jim (Andrea) Casebolt; nieces, Jessica (Josh) Heidorn, Debbie Hartman-Harris (Virgil Allen); great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Christina “Teany” Cantwell.

Friends will be received Sunday, January 20, 2019, 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm at the Life Church, 201 W. Conwell St., Aurora, Indiana.

Services will be held at the church at 3:30 pm with Pastor Kenny Hopper officiating.

Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery, Moores Hill, Indiana.
