Greensburg man arrested for criminal trespassing, resisting law enforcement

GREENSBURG, IN — A Greensburg man is facing several charges following his arrest shortly after 7:30 Monday morning.

Greensburg Police say Officer Stephen Hershberger was responding to a criminal trespassing report on Washington Street when he recognized the suspect and attempted to arrest Jerry Lee Jones, who allegedly pulled away from the officer.

Several other Greensburg officers arrived and were able to place Jones in handcuffs and take him to the Decatur County Jail.

The 68-year-old Jones is charged with resisting law enforcement, criminal trespassing (both Class A misdemeanors), and possession of marijuana (Class B misdemeanor).

The Greensburg Police Department is thanking the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in the case.
