Greensburg Cookout/Outreach Season Begins Thursday

(Greensburg, IN) – The first in this year’s series of Greensburg Public Safety Community Cookouts/Outreach events takes place tomorrow (Thursday) at Greensburg Community High School (GCHS).

The city, in partnership with the high school SADD chapter, IU Health LifeLine, Decatur County EMS and the Tree County Players will host a distracted driving demonstration at 10:15 a.m. at GCHS.

The event is open to students, faculty, staff and the public.

The rest of this year’s schedule is as follows:

  • Thursday, May 8 – Maureen Road between E. Tara Street and E. Israel Street, 6-8 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 5 – N. East Street between 5th Street and Jorim Drive, 6-8 p.m.
  • July – Decatur County Fair (public safety booth).
  • Thursday, August 14 – National Night Out at North Park, 5-8 p.m.
  • September – Tree City Fall Festival (public safety booth).
  • Friday, October 17 – GCHS Home Football Game

The Public Safety Community Cookout/Outreach series was launched in 2021.

The free events are put on by the City and its police and fire departments.
