Area athletes had a very good showing at the IHSAA Girls Track and Field State Finals at
Indiana University in Bloomington on Saturday.
Greensburg’s Emarie Jackson finished state runner-up in shot put with a throw of 41’00.25″ and 3rd in the discus with a top distance of 146’10”.
The East Central 4x400m and 4x800m relay teams also reached the podium at the meet. The 4x400m relay team of Jorjia Ferguson, Callie Bentley, Rachel Campbell, and Erika Wells took 4th with a time of 3:55.87. In the 4x800m, the team of Erika Wells, Ashtyn Gindling, Rachel Campbell, and Callie Bentley placed 6th with a time of 9:18.20.
Rachel Campbell also competed in the 400m dash, running a time of 59.44.
