(Versailles, IN) – Although some activities at this weekend’s Versailles Pumpkin Show were called off because of the weather, the parade went on Saturday morning as did the Giant Pumpkin Weigh-in afterward.
Jerry Walker of Versailles raised the heaviest pumpkin, which checked in at 1,000.5 pounds.
Last year’s champion, Jim Gunther of Corydon, had the second place pumpkin at 740.5 pounds, while Jerry’s brother and Vevay resident Terry Walker finished third with a gourd that weighed in at 562.5 pounds.
Allison Adams from Osgood had the heaviest youth pumpkin, which weighed 53 pounds.
