GDC Chamber of Commerce Celebrates Business Excellence at Annual Dinner

(Greensburg, IN) – The Greensburg/Decatur County Chamber of Commerce hosted its highly anticipated 2024 Annual Dinner at Venue on 3 this past Friday, November, celebrating the vibrant community and honoring outstanding leaders who have made a lasting impact on Greensburg and Decatur County. The evening was filled with camaraderie, recognition, and support for local initiatives that drive community success.

A highlight of the evening was the announcement of recipients for the Chamber’s Small Business Grants. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of those who participated in the Cash Bash Fundraiser, the Chamber was able to award not one, but three business grants up to $1,500 each. These grants will help support the growth and innovation of Carousel Play & Learn Center, Greensburg County Club & Event Center, and Painting The Town, demonstrating the community’s dedication to fostering small business success.

The evening also featured the presentation of several prestigious awards, celebrating the incredible individuals and businesses that embody the values and mission of the Chamber. Merrill Smith was honored as the Don Horan Community Leader of the Year, while Wim Hulsbosch of Hulsbosch Dairy Farm LLC was named Entrepreneur of the Year. Caleb Robertson of Phase Financial LLC was recognized as the Chamber’s Ambassador of the Year for his dedication and advocacy.

The Chamber also recognized Leslie Thackery of Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home for her years of service as an outgoing board member and Laura Walsman of Decatur County Memorial Hospital for her impactful tenure as the 2024 Chamber Board President. Both leaders were celebrated for their commitment and contributions to the Chamber and the community at large.
