(Aurora, IN) – A new round of high school equivalency preparation is coming to Aurora, with free classes scheduled to run twice a week in January and February at the Aurora Public Library.
River Valley Resources Adult Education will lead the sessions, which are set for Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon. Organizers say the program is intended for adults working toward a High School Equivalency Diploma, an option for earning an Indiana-recognized credential through testing rather than traditional coursework.
The Indiana High School Equivalency exam is built around five subject areas: math, reading, writing, science and social studies. State guidance says eligible test-takers include Indiana residents who have lived in the state for at least 30 days, have not already earned a diploma from an accredited U.S. high school, and are at least 16 years old.
The Aurora sessions are being offered in partnership with the Aurora Public Library Foundation. For details or to sign up, contact Mary Abrams at (812) 221-1055.
