Franklin County runs at Randolph Southern

It was a good day at the Randolph Southern Cross Country Invite for Franklin County as every member of its cross country team ran personal season bests.

Coach Stacey Nobbe reports, for the FCHS boys, senior Ben Maze was their top finisher placing 21st out of 151 participants. He missed a top 20 spot by three seconds with a time of 18:48. Senior Adam Grant was next fastest. He placed 25th with a time of 18:59. He is only seven seconds from a career personal best. Freshman Owen Darwish continues to improve by minutes each meet. He has dropped from a 30 minute 5K to a 23:49 5K.

For the FCHS girls, freshman Esther George continues to lead the team, placing 37th out of 102 runners. Her time of 24:17 is her fastest yet Nobbe noted. Senior Katherine Apsley continues to get faster, but her time of 25:55 could only earn her 52nd place. Kenzie Rogers, Isabella Thiemann and Moorea Nobbe are getting faster, but they are going to have to be under 28 minutes in order to be competitive.

We thank coach Nobbe for the information.
