(Franklin County, IN) – The Franklin County Public Library District will host two writing workshops in November.
The first will be with author Gordon Korman, whose books have appeared at number one on the New York Times Best Seller list. Korman will share his writing skills and tips at the Brookville Library on November 2 at 5 p.m.
Korman has a BFA degree from New York University with a major in Dramatic Writing and a minor in Film and TV. He has written over 100 books for kids and teens which have sold over 35 million copies worldwide.
Some of Korman’s titles include Mixed Up, The Super Teacher Project, and Linked.
The library district says this writing workshop is the perfect opportunity to learn and hone your writing skills with an experienced author. Spots are limited, so please RSVP by calling the Brookville Library at (765) 647-4031.
The second writing workshop will be with author Don Kaufman.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Kaufman retired from teaching in 2016 after having spent 50 years as an educator at all levels—from pre-K and grade school through college and graduate school.
Kaufman is an author and the managing partner of Berg Kaufman Publishing. He is also the Executive Director of The Oxford Society, a nonprofit organization he and his wife, Patricia, established in 2003.
Kaufman will regale patrons with tales of how he wrote The Monkey Brothers: Adventures in Thailand and The Wisdom of John Prine. He will also read some passages from each book, take questions and comments, and talk about his writing process and how it may help future authors in their writing endeavors.
He will be at Brookville Library on November 10 at 5 p.m. and at Laurel Library on November 14 at 6 p.m.
