Update: Orange travel advisory as Franklin County Highway is working to clear roads

Brookville, IN

Update – Franklin County has canceled the Travel Warning (RED)  and changed it to Travel Watch (Orange) until further notice. A “WATCH” Travel Advisory means that conditions are threatening to the safety of the public. During a Watch travel advisory, only essential travel, such as to and from work or in emergency situations, is recommended.

Original story – According to the Franklin County Highway Department, all the low-lying roads are passable but with 4 to 5 inches of snow-covered roadway.

Drifts are reported as being 3 to 4 feet in places. The flat ground areas are drifted and will not be passable until plowed. The County Highway trucks have continued to be out working the County. Please give them space and time to work.

The County Highway Department is working to try to get most of the roadways plowed and passable by 1 pm today.
