Francis Eugene “Frank” “Gene” Rumsey, 91 of Aurora passed away January 6, 2018 at his home. Gene was born August 27, 1926 at home, the son of Clarence and Della Mae (Robbins) Rumsey. He married Clara Eileen “Beanie” (Piening) Rumsey April 2, 1949 and she survives. Gene was a WWII Army veteran and worked at Seagrams for many years. He was a member of Holman Christian Union Church for 91 years and he was involved in many mens groups within the church. Gene enjoyed farming and taking care of his family.
Gene is survived by his wife Eileen Rumsey of Aurora; son: Donald (Irine) Rumsey of Guilford; daughter: Donna (Ralph) Larimore of NY; brother: Delmar Rumsey of Aurora; sisters: Ada Mae Courter of Indianapolis; Betty Seasongood of Connersville. 5 Grandchildren, 1 Great-Grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, son: David Rumsey, brother: Louis Rumsey, sister: Evelyn Courter.
Funeral services will be Friday January 12, 2018 at 11 am at Holman Christian Union Church 12020 North Hogan Road Aurora, In 47001 with Dr. Daniel Barkdoll and Pastor Mike Addison officiating. Visitation will be Thursday 4-7 pm at Laws-Carr-Moore funeral home. Burial will be at Hogan Hill Cemetery with full military honors. Memorials may be made to Holman Christian Union Church.
