Forrest “Darrell” Dobson, 61, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Monday, September 24, 2018 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He was born January 23, 1957 in Milan, Indiana, son of Alma (Ritchie) Dobson and the late Ardith Dobson.
He worked as a Purchasing Agent for Stedman Machine Company for 29 years preceded by 10 years of service at the Farm Bureau Co-Op.
He was a member of Sons of the American Legion, Post #292 and National Muzzle Loaders Association. Darrell enjoyed hunting, fishing, mowing grass, UK basketball, working in the garden and canning vegetables with his wife. Darrell enjoyed hiking and jogging. He ran the Columbus Marathon “Our World Is Flat” in 2004. The time that he spent with his family was the highlight of his life. He especially enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren. Darrell will be greatly missed.
Darrell is survived by his loving spouse of 37 years Andrea Dobson (Ohlmansiek), two daughters, Rachel (Eric) Busch of Osgood, IN, Mallory Dobson of Crown Point, IN; mother, Alma Dobson of Dillsboro, IN; siblings, Everett “Ardell” Dobson of Middletown, OH, Ronald (Jean) Dobson of Lawrenceburg, IN, Lisa (Troy) Johnson of Aurora, IN; brother-in-law, Billy Cutter of Dillsboro, IN; grandchildren, Morgan Busch and Mason Busch; grandcats, Obie & Lollie; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Ardith Dobson and sister, Barbara A. Cutter.
Friends will be received Sunday, September 30, 2018, 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, Indiana . Services will be held at the Funeral Home, Monday, October 1, 2018 at 11:00 am with Pastor Tom Fehrman officiating.
Interment will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery, Dillsboro, Indiana. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Dillsboro Alumni. If unable to attend services, please call the funeral home office at (812) 926-1450 and we will notify the family of your donation with a card.
