(Greensburg, IN) – Greensburg City Council this week approved the sale of the former Fire Station One at 528 North Ireland Street to Tim and Kelly Koors, who are the owners of Koors Heating and Cooling.

They plan to move their HVAC business to the site, which is a high-traffic area and considered a “front door” for the community.

Mayor Joshua Marsh says the Koors completed a purchase agreement for $435-thousand, which was about $20-thousand less than the city’s asking price, based on appraisal.

City Attorney Chris Stephen reviewed the agreement and told council that selling the building and the property for less than what was asked for was legally allowed because no other bids were submitted.

Marsh says revenue from the sale of the building and property will be reinvested into city services.

The Ireland Street site had been on the market for about nine months.

Greensburg firefighters were housed at the Ireland Street station beginning in February 1975 until the department moved into its new headquarters at the Municipal Campus on Barachel Lane in September 2024.
