Floys Short, 94, of Sunman passed away Monday, December 30, 2019 at Ripley Crossing in Milan. Floys was born Friday, March 13, 1925 in Mallie, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Isaac and Nancy Ann (Campbell) Reynolds. She married Has “Booker” Short October 4, 1945 and he preceded her in death January 1992. Floys was a homemaker and attended Little Memory Church, Sunman. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, gardening, cooking, canning, singing, boardgames and visiting with family.
Floys is survived by daughters: Brenda Martin of Sunman; Merlene (Danny) Baxter of Moores Hill; Paula (Ron) Clements of Milan; and Cathy Short (Lisa) of Berea, Kentucky; sister Betty Miller of Vandalia, Ohio; eight grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; and eleven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter Rhonda Cooke; three brothers; and five sisters.
A service celebrating her life will be held 11 AM Friday, January 3, 2020 at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan with Jerry Manns officiating. Burial will follow in Little Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may gather to share and remember her 6-8 PM Thursday, January 2 also at the funeral home. Memorials may be given in honor of Floys to the Donor’s Choice.
