(Decatur County, IN) – A house on the 55-hundred block of County Road South 60 Southwest in southern Decatur County is a total loss after a Thursday night fire.
The Letts Community Volunteer Fire Department says several agencies arriving at the scene discovered the home was fully engulfed with structural collapse.
Firefighting efforts were hampered by snow and icy conditions, as well as limited access to the property, which sits way off the road.
There were no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire hasn’t been listed.
Letts received assistance from the Greensburg, Burney-Clay Township, and Marion Township (Millhousen) fire departments, Decatur County EMS, the Decatur County Highway Department, Decatur County REMC and CenterPoint Energy.
In addition, Hulsbosch Dairy Farm provided a tractor to pull out a firefighting apparatus that became stuck.
