Fairground Fun Park replacing State Fair time slot for 2020

Indianapolis, IN—The State Fair may be canceled, but there is a new event scheduled to take place during that time.

Yesterday, The Indiana State Fairgrounds and Event center announced on social media The Fairgrounds Fun Park coming to Indianapolis this summer. The Fairgrounds Fun Park presented by Indiana 811 will occur from July 31 through September 7 in Indianapolis at the Fairgrounds. The event will feature rides, games, and Midway Food. After many complaints on social media about the State Fair being canceled and this event happening at that same time, organizers responded by stating, “the Indiana State Fair is a complex event that attracts over 850,000 guests, including vendors, exhibitors, sponsors, performers and more, spread throughout a 200+ acre campus. Due to this complexity and the impact of COVID-19 on our event, the 2020 State Fair was canceled in June. We are thankful that our partners at North American Midway Entertainment have found a way to provide a simplified event at our facility this summer. The Fairgrounds Fun Park will be a completely new experience, with rides, games, and food stands lining our iconic Main Street.”
