Evelyn Payne

Evelyn Payne, age 88, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2023 at her home.  Evelyn was a lifelong resident of Indianapolis, until she moved to Batesville to be closer family.  She was the oldest of 8 children.  She and her spouse, Bill, had 4 children, Michael, Kathryn (Schuerman), Stephen and Susan. Evelyn had 33 grand, great grand and great great grandchildren. She was a valued employee of IUPUI for over 30 years, finishing her career as Assistant Director of Budgeting and Fiscal Affairs. She made many lifelong friends through ITC, a professional business women’s organization. A celebration of life will begin on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at 1:00 pm, with service at 2:00 pm, at Weigel’s Funeral Home in Batesville, Indiana.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in the memory of Evelyn to SEI Voices for Children at 122 S.
