BATESVILLE, IN — A local manufacturer had a strong run but has been eliminated from the running for the title of “Coolest Thing Made in Indiana.”
Batesville’s Wood-Mizer was outvoted by Fountain County-based Old 55 Distillery in the Elite Eight of the online competition put on by the Indiana Chamber.
Participants were required to enter a product, and Wood-Mizer went with portable sawmills, which have various uses including building houses and making baseball bats.
In the single-elimination bracket, each remaining competitor advances to the next round until the champion is crowned.
The inaugural competition started with 65 companies from nearly 50 communities in 35 counties.
