Emma “Lucille” Bennett

Emma “Lucille” (Hawk, Baum) Bennett, 95, of Aurora, Indiana passed away Tuesday November 10, 2020 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

She was born October 7, 1925 in Cincinnati, Ohio, daughter of the late Fay Hawk and Nora (Liggett) Hawk.

Lucille worked as a cashier for Kroger, retiring after over 36 years of service.

Lucille collected salt & pepper shakers and has over 1200 sets. She loved to travel and has seen every state in the union except for Alaska. She enjoyed cooking and baking. Lucille raised African Violets, and even won ribbons at the fair. She was an animal lover, especially “Prince” her beloved poodle who preceded her in death.

Lucille is survived by her sons, Fred C. (Sharon) Baum of Harrison, OH, Jerry (Janice) Baum of FL, Tim (Debbie) Baum of Newport News, VA; grandchildren, Lora L. Strong, Jeff Baum, Sherrie Baum, Doug Baum, Jason Baum, and Ashley North; great-grandchildren, Logan Strong and Johnny Baum.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy Bennett; son, Michael Robert Baum; grandson, David Baum, 2 brothers, 1 sister and sister-in-law, Marian Baum.

Friends will be received Friday, November 13, 2020, 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, Indiana.

Services will be held immediately following visitation at 2:00 pm.

Interment will follow in the Gibson Cemetery, Bright, Indiana.

Contributions may be made to the Local Honor Flight. If unable to attend services, please call the funeral home office at (812) 926-1450 and we will notify the family of your donation with a card.

Due to the current situation dealing with COVID-19, we are following the directives from Governor Holcomb and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention concerning large events and mass gatherings. The family deeply appreciates the support and love shown from friends, but the health and well being of everyone in our community is of top priority. We are asking everyone who will be in attendance to please remember the social distancing guidelines at all times, and the wearing of masks is highly recommended.
