Emergency Vehicle Training Schedule Set

(Decatur County, IN) – Sheriff Bill Meyerrose received approval from Decatur County Commissioners this week to shut down County Road 250 West from May 28 through June 8 for the annual emergency vehicle operations training.

250 West will be closed to all traffic between Vandalia and Base roads, and motorists will be asked to use an alternate route during the temporary closure.

The sessions are state-mandated and are held locally instead of sending first responders to the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Plainfield, which saves the county money.

The training is conducted 24/7 and while law enforcement officers are on duty.

Police from jurisdictions throughout Decatur County plus EMTs are expected to take part in the EVO training.
