Edward “Dick” Reese – Brookville

Edward “Dick” Reese, of Brookville, was born on October 15, 1927 in St. Mary’s, IN, the youngest son of Richard Bent and Ollie Victoria Marcum Reese.  He married the former Glenna Hensley on September 10, 1946 who preceded him in death on July 27, 2000.  He worked various jobs including the county highway department and the railroad until he retired from Wayne Works in Richmond.  Dick also farmed and had a car lot at one time.  He enjoyed travelling the country, fishing, antique tractors and cars, and watching westerns and nature TV shows.  On Thursday, August 22, 2019, at the age of 91, Dick passed away at home peacefully surrounded by family.

Those surviving who will cherish Dick’s memory include his 5 daughters; Carolyn (William) Gay of Port Charlotte, FL, Joann (Paul) Bell of Connersville, Victoria Meyer of Brookville, Linda (Dean) Walter of Brookville, and Barbara (Jack) Arnold of Connersville; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; loving companion, Jennifer Knecht; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife of 53 years, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Regina Faye Reese; 6 brothers, Elmer, Conley, Powell, Ora, Herlon, and Verlie; and five sisters, Daisy, Mae, Lora, Alice, and Hazel.

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, August 24, 2019 from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville.  Burial will follow immediately after in Maple Grove Cemetery.
