UPDATE: All lanes of eastbound I-74 at the 148-mile-marker have reopened.
The crash reported around 10 a.m. Friday involved a semi and a minivan (pictured).
Indiana State Police say even after INDOT treats this and other roadways, you should still drive with caution this afternoon and evening as temperatures hover around the freezing mark in Southeastern Indiana.
(Batesville, IN) – All lanes of eastbound Interstate 74 at the 148 mile-marker had to be closed this morning due to a multi-vehicle crash.
It happened around 10 a.m. between South County Line Road and the Batesville/Oldenburg State Road 229 exit.
Traffic is being diverted to State Road 46, which was reported to be at a standstill because of all of the vehicles using it to bypass the interstate.
Indiana State Police are reporting a number of weather-related slide-offs on the interstate, particularly in Ripley and Franklin counties.
They’re urging drivers to use caution and avoid the area, if possible.
