(St. Leon, IN) – A pair of East Central High School students have been recognized as part of the 9th Congressional District Art Competition.

Dozens of submissions were received from high school students across the district.

According to Congresswoman Erin Houchin’s office, freshman Devin Fox’s artwork, City of the Mind, took second place.

Senior Zoey Parr’s piece, Frenzied French Horn, came in third.

The first place winner was “Grapefruit” by Jordan Bailey from Scottsburg High School.

Fox and Parr’s artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington with other winners from across the country.

“Congratulations to these talented students—and thank you to everyone who submitted artwork,” said Congresswoman Houchin. “I’m proud to see so much creativity and passion from young artists across Indiana’s 9th District.”

Each spring, members of the U.S. House of Representatives sponsor a nationwide high school arts competition.
