In a junior varsity boys soccer match played Thursday, host East Central defeated Oldenburg 3-1. According to Oldenburg assistant coach Mike Wilhelm, the Trojans scored on two corner kicks (names not reported).
“The first half corner for EC came at 21:55 and curved into the back post,” said Wilhelm. “It was a really nice shot. The second half corner had a headshot at the back post resulting in the second goal at 26:14. Their third goal came at 18:34 in the second half.”
“The Twisters played much better than the score shows and are playing better as a team,” noted Wilhlem.
The Twisters had 3 shots with 1 on goal, 3 fouls, 1 corner kick, 3 handballs and Isaiah Waggoner had 9 saves. East Central had 21 shots with 12 on goal, 3 offsides, 7 fouls, 2 corners, 1 handball and their keepers had 1 save.
