Eagles win over Indians the only conference game on Tuesday’s girls slate

The following are recaps from Tuesday’s girls varsity basketball games (and JV where reported):

Jac-Cen-Del defeated Milan 72-22 in an ORVC contest.  For the Eagles, Olivia Neal had 13 points and nine rebounds. Annabelle Williams posted 11 points, eight assists and six rebounds. Jalee Rider recorded 10 points and four steals while Julia Meyer logged nine boards, six dishes, three swipes and also chipped in two points.

The Eagle JV won 62-29.  Kelsey Borgman and Sophia Sullivan led the feathered reserves with 18 and 11 points respectively.

South Dearborn fell 51-38 in Aurora to Madison.  For the Knights, Natalie Rupp picked up 15 points.  Kiersten Dixon added nine.

Cam Cahall led the Cubs with 14 points and eight rebounds.  Mary Johnson booked a dozen points while Taylor Lynch had a double double with 10 points and 11 assists.

The Knight reserves trailed 26-3 at halftime and had a huge comeback in the second half but fell short 33-29.  For the SD JV, Gracie Messmore had 11 points while Lauren Musgrove scored nine.

Lawrenceburg won 51-28 at Oldenburg.  Kirsten Cross had a 14-point, eight rebound effort for LHS.  Tiger teammate Lizzie Redar logged 11 points and six boards.

North Decatur went to Hanover and defeated Southwestern 42-34.  The Chargers Madelyn Bohman had 12 points and four steals, Madi Allen scored nine and pulled down five boards and had five takeaways.  Ella Kuntz had a team-best 10 caroms and tossed in four points.

For the Rebels, Asley Fulton had 11 points, five rebounds and three steals.  Trinity McClain netted 10 points, seven boars and also had three swipes.

South Ripley outscored South Decatur by four in the final quarter to edge host South Decatur by three, 40-37.  For the Raiders, Gracie Gunter tallied 13 points, seven rebounds, six assists and three steals.  Katelynn Samples dialed up a dozen points and Emily Flood posted seven points, nine rebounds and six steals.

For the Cougars, Loryn Pate led in scoring with 16 points and also collected eight rebounds.  Makayla Somers followed with eight points and had a team-high 10 caroms.

Greensburg lost by three at home to Shelbyville 44-41.  The Golden Bears Kylee Edwards dropped in 29 points. For the Pirates, Mylie Wilkison scored 19 and Leah West had 10.

In two other games of area interes, Connersville lost in the Spartan Bowl to Mt. Vernon 41-28. And in the Johnson County Tournament, Edinburgh lost to Center Grove 78-16.
