Drew Chandler Lauber, 28, of Milan passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023 at his home. He was born in Batesville on June 26, 1995, the son of Steve and Mindy Firth Lauber. Survivors include his parents Steve and Mindy Lauber of Dillsboro; his significant other Morgan Flores; one brother Alec (Morgan) Lauber of Dillsboro, and Drew’s nephew Barrett Lauber, along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Denver and Betty Lauber and Bine and Ruby Firth. Drew was a 2014 graduate of Milan High School and attended IUPUI Southeast in New Albany. He was employed as a security officer at Toyota in Hebron, Kentucky and also had worked security at the St. Elizabeth Dearborn Hospital in Lawrenceburg. Along with these jobs, he had also done sub-teaching at South Ripley. He was certified in fire and rescue and had served with the Aurora and Dillsboro EMS. Drew loved animals, movies, helping people and being with his family. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 22 at 12p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Heather Bressert officiating. Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery in Dillsboro. Visitation will be on Friday from 4p.m. to 7p.m. Memorials may be given to the Ripley County Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
