Downed trees and power lines keep crews in Franklin County busy

FRANKLIN COUNTY, IN — Thursday’s heavy rains left behind flooded roads and other problems around Franklin County.

Sheriff’s deputies and the county highway department dealt with a downed tree that blocked part of Fairfield Causeway Road Thursday night.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office asked for help early Friday morning from the Laurel Fire Department in removing a large tree that was blocking US 52 near State Road 121.

Bath Road between Mud Road and State Road 101 was shut down because of a downed electric power pole.

Lovers Road between Sawmill and Pine roads was closed because of power lines in the roadway.

A Winter Weather Advisory issued Thursday for Franklin County was canceled several hours before it was due to expire at 7 am Friday.
