Douglas E. “Doug” Laws, 53, passed away on December 24, 2021 at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Sacramento, California on November 18, 1968 to Ed and Thelma (Cramer) Laws.
He married Robin (Swinney) Laws on October 17, 1992. Together they built a life in Milan where they had two children, Allen and Annjeanette.
Doug was a man of Faith and loved his wife and children dearly. Along with his wife Robin, Doug led children’s ministry at the Bridge of Hope. He worked as a delivery driver for UPS for 25 years. He was a former member of the Milan Volunteer Fire Department. Doug was always willing to lend a helping hand and his loyalty was never in question. Doug also enjoyed camping in “their” spot, golfing, and traveling to various places but especially to the beach. It is known that Doug baked the best snickerdoodle cookies around.
Doug will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Robin; his children, Allen (Hannah) Laws and Annjeanette Laws. He is also survived by his mother, Thelma Laws; sisters, Dea (Scott) Fasbinder, Debbie Siebert, Diane (Mike) Alloway, Darbi (Darren) Wilson; several nieces and nephews and their children; and many loving in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ed Laws; brother-in-law, Jerry Siebert; nephew, Cody Swinney; great nephew, Emmitt Ash and his grandparents.
Family and friends will gather at the Bridge of Hope Worship Center in Milan on Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. A celebration service will be held immediately following the visitation at 6:00 pm with Pastor Doug Norman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the local volunteer fire departments through the funeral home that generously gave to Doug during his most difficult times.
