She and her husband Tom were also chosen as grand marshal for the Dillsboro homecoming parade in 2016.
Family was the heart of Dot’s life. She was the loving mother to sons Denver and Keith Jewett, and daughters Karen (Gary) Kirkpatrick and Beth (Robert) Strassell. Her legacy continues to flourish through her beloved grandchildren Shane (Dana) Jewett, Chad (Kim) Jewett, Kasey (Tasha) Kirkpatrick, Korey (Roseanna) Kirkpatrick, Jason (Kelly) Robbins, Jessie (Jason) Manlove, Sarah (Ryan) Teer, Alex (Russina) Strassell, along with fourteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved parents, three brothers, two sisters, two sons, two sons-in-law, and one great-great grandchild.
