Doris V. Bloom, 99 of Moores Hill passed away at her home Thursday February 2, 2017. Doris was born Monday April 23, 1917 in Dearborn County the daughter of Harry and Otta (Bedunnah) Schultz. Doris married Preston “Pat” Bloom March 3, 1948 and he preceded her in death on November 27, 1999.
Doris was a busy lady being a homemaker and working on the farm. She also worked several years at P&G in Cincinnati. Doris enjoyed reading, gardening, nature and wild life. She enjoyed bird watching, cooking and was very artistic. She loved collecting ceramics and statues of red cardinal birds.
Doris is survived by sons Andrew Preston (Maria) Bloom of Dayton, Ohio; Harry James (Patricia) Bloom of Moores Hill; daughter Linda Jean (Joseph) Rodriguez of Moores Hill; sister Bonnie Jean Silverstein of Columbus, Ohio; 4 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren and a host of wonderful friends and neighbors.
Funeral services will be at 2PM Tuesday February 7 at the Mt. Sinai United Methodist Church with Pastor La Jo Dunbar officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Sinai Cemetery. Visitation will also be Tuesday 12-2PM at the church. Memorials may be given to the Mt. Sinai United Methodist Church through the funeral home.
