Donna R. (Stanley) Whitaker

Donna R. (Stanley) Whitaker, 69, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Tuesday November 17, 2020, surrounded by friends and family.

She was born May 28, 1951 in Hamilton, Ohio, daughter of the late Robert Stanley and Georgia (Wirsing) Stanley.

Donna graduated from Garfield High School in 1969. She married Wendell in 1970, recently celebrating 50 years together.

She retired as a cafeteria manager from Aurora Elementary School. She loved to be around and do things for other people. She was an amazing cook and had a love of home decorating that earned her many praises. Her life was a living example of what she believed in: being kind, caring, and compassionate; and putting God first. She was a woman with many friends and her infectious smile will live on forever.

Donna is survived by her adored husband, Wendell Whitaker; sister, Carol (Michael) McWhorter; daughters, Tammy (Phill) Kellard, and Tara (Bobby) Golden; grandchildren, Ashley (Brian) Clark, Alexis, Paige & Destiny.

She was preceded in death by parents Robert and Georgia Stanley and her sister, Gloria.

Friends will be received Friday, November 20, 2020, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm at the Trinity Christian Center, 18687 Pribble Road, Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

Services will be held immediately following visitation at 3:00 pm.

Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana.
Contributions may be made to the Trinity Christian Center. If unable to attend services, please call the funeral home office at (812) 926-1450 and we will notify the family of your donation with a card.

Due to the current situation dealing with COVID-19, we are following the directives from Governor Holcomb and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention concerning large events and mass gatherings. The family deeply appreciates the support and love shown from friends, but the health and well being of everyone in our community is of top priority. We are asking everyone who will be in attendance to please remember the social distancing guidelines at all times, and the wearing of masks is highly recommended.
