Donna Kennett Martini, age 79, of Yorkville, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 24. Donna caught the eye of her soon to be husband of 56 years, Leo, at Winter Gardens in E-town and they were married on February 1, 1963. She adored her family more than anything and enjoyed going to the kids sporting events. She loved to play cards and was lucky at the slots. She liked to travel to Vegas and play at Belterra. Donna was an excellent cook with one of her favorite meals being roast beef with potatoes and carrots, potato salad and German chocolate cake. But she would also fry up whatever Leo brought home from hunting, which usually included squirrels and rabbits. Donna liked playing tennis and going out with the girls and was a member of the “Golden Girls”.
Donna will be greatly missed her husband, Leo, and children Donald (Tammy) Martini of Bright, daughter-in-law Lynda Martini of Yorkville, Brenda (Philip) Jonas of Harrison, and Rhonda (Eric) Sizemore of Bright; and sister Dorothy Cox and brothers Denver & Ron Kennett. She will also be fondly remembered by her nine grandchildren Jamie (Dave) Shillinger, Kristi Martini, Zachary (Danielle) Martini, Todd (Emily) Jonas, Bradley (Colby) Jonas, Brandon (Jessica) Jonas, Andres Jonas, Samantha Sizemore, and Matthew Sizemore; and 13 great grandchildren Curtlyn & Caeden Shillinger, Carsyn Martini, Lexi, Logan, Lincoln & Luca Martini, Emmett, Vera, Vivian, Shepard, Bennett, and Lucy Jonas. Donna is preceded in death by her son Jeff, brothers Willis Jr., & Robert Kennett, and sisters Wanda Evans & Yuelta Dodd.
Visitation for Donna will be Saturday at Andres-Wuestefeld Funeral Home from 9-12 with Mass of Christian Burial at St. Martin Church, All Saints Parish at 12:30.
