Donald William Turner, 91, passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at the Lodge Retirement Community in Cincinnati, OH. Don was born in Covington, KY on August 28, 1929, to the late Thomas and Lucille Turner. He began his career with Baldwin Piano and Organ Company, Cincinnati, OH as a design engineer and then took his skills to Hill Rom, Batesville, IN until retirement. Don was a craftsman, inventor, private pilot, lover of jazz and big bands. Additionally, he was captain of many boats especially his beloved houseboats on the waterways of KY and TN. Family, houseboating, and UK basketball were Don’s passions.
Don was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Turner (nee Battaglia); and his sister, Barbara Wall.
He leaves behind his children Joyce Dickey (Bill) of Loveland, OH, Don “Skip” Turner of Kissimmee, FL, Linda Turner of Greenhills, OH, and Beth Enneking (Greg) of Batesville, IN; his grandchildren Craig Dickey (Traci), Aaron Enneking (Meredith), Scott Enneking (Holly), and Cara Enneking (Andre McMillan); his great-grandchildren, Sadie Dickey and Cameron Dickey, and James and Ellie Enneking; and his sister-in-law, Shirley Hoerlein.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 from 11:30am until 12:30pm at Linnemann Funeral Home in Erlanger, KY. Interment will be at Mother of God Cemetery in Latonia, KY.
