Deputies warn residents of phone scam involving spoofed FCSO phone number

(Franklin County, IN) – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says someone is spoofing its phone number as part of several scams.

Deputies say the scammers mask phone numbers to try and get information and money from people.

The Sheriff’s Office says staff members will never request money from residents over the phone, and that any invoice or delinquent tax bill will be mailed through the U.S. Postal Service.
