Dennis Roark, age 72, Dillsboro

Dennis Wayne Roark Sr, age 72 of Dillsboro, passed away surrounded by his family on July 4, 2024.  He was born on July 1, 1952, the son of the late Troy and Peggy (Snider) Roark in Cincinnati, Ohioi

Dennis was fortunate early in life, finding his soulmate in Lora Cornett.   They were united in marriage on June 21, 1971, recently celebrating their 53rd anniversary.  He began his work career spending several years working for Allgeier and Sons Inc, prior to starting his own construction business with his son Little Denny.  They worked several years together in various aspects of construction.

His world revolved around his family; he enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible.  He had a passion for the outdoors, whether it be camping, hunting his favorite white tail, or riding his favorite stud, he was at peace.  Dennis enjoyed doing things around the farm and baling hay was always a favorite thing to do.

Tennesse held a special place in his heart, as he was not only married there, but it became the go to vacation place. He loved the area around Pigeon Forge, not so much the town, but the beauty of the mountains, streams, and cabins.

Dennis will be dearly missed by wife Lora, son Dennis II (“Little Denny”) and Kelly Roark, daughter Dennise and Adrian Wilburn, grandchildren; Becky (Zach) Ollman, Dennis “mini Denny” Roark,  Dalton Roark, Kobe Roark, Tyler (Tanner) Wilburn, Zach (Ashlee) Wilburn,  Kaleb Wilburn, and Kayden McClellan, great grandchildren Remington Ollman, Bristol Ollman, Stella Roark, and Laken Roark,  brothers Troy (Tammy) Roark, and Clifford (Natasha) Roark, sisters Lady (Carl) Kreger, and Darlene Emery, best friend Dan Lozier, along with numerous niece and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, stepdad Eddie Weise, brother Jimmy (Smiley) Roark, and grandson Race Wilburn.

Visitation will be held on Monday July 8, 2024, from 11 am.- 1pm., at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood.  Funeral services will be held at 1 pm., also at Neal’s, with burial following at Grandview Cemetery in Madison. Memorials can be given to Dennis Roark Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.  Online condolences may be placed at Nealsfuneralhome.net
