Denise Christine Disney, 65, of Milan passed away Monday, December 19, 2022 at her home. Denise was born Friday, December 13, 1957 in Milan; daughter of William and Mary Jo (Wells) Disney. Denise was a teacher’s associate at Milan Elementary School for twenty-six years. She was a member of the St. Leon American Legion Auxiliary Unit 464 and was also a member of the Hope Baptist Church. Denise enjoyed camping, hiking, gardening, taking care of her flowers, and collecting mini porcelain shoes. She also always looked forward to picking up her grandson Brody from school every Friday.
Denise will be missed by her husband, Michael Keyes of Milan; son James “Jimmy” Berger of Milan; mother Mary Jo Disney of Sunman; siblings Jennie (Jerry) Maune of St. Leon, Joan (Greg) Butler of Cincinnati, Rhonda Hoskins of Dillsboro, Marcia (Len) Eckstein of Sunman, Robin (Mick) Braunagel of Milan, and Dawn (Robert Pineda) Disney of Sunman; and grandchild Brody Berger.
Denise was preceded in death by her father William Disney; brother John “Jonny” Disney; and sisters Debbie Wilhelm and Jackie Disney.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Denise Thursday, December 29, 2022, from 9-10:45 AM at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan with St. Leon American Legion Auxiliary Unit 464 providing a Ladies Auxiliary Service at 10:45 AM. A service will immediately follow at 11 AM with Pastor Tom Holt officiating. A burial will take place in Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1415 North Gate Rd., Madison, IN 47250. Memorials may be given in honor of Denise to Milan Dollars for Scholars, St. Leon American Legion Auxiliary Unit 464, or Hope Baptist Church.
