(Decatur County, IN) – The National Weather Service in Indianapolis says the string of severe storms that swept through the area on Feb. 19 between 7 and 8 p.m. spawned a tornado in Decatur County.
The twister was identified by stormchaser video, and is believed to have been on the ground west of Greensburg between 8:35 and 8:37 last Thursday evening for just under one mile.
The tornado’s maximum width was 25 yards.
The weather service says there was no damage found or reported, so the tornado intensity rating is EF-U because of unknown wind speeds.
It was the third confirmed tornado to hit Indiana during last week’s storms.
There were no injuries.
