Town Marshal Bill Dramann is scheduled to work his final shift on Wednesday, ending a law-enforcement career that spans 57 years. Dramann began policing in 1969 with the Batesville Police Department, later joined the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office and served two terms as sheriff. He also spent eight years as Sunman’s town marshal before joining Oldenburg.
Wednesday is also the last day in uniform for Officer Eric Moenter, who has served Oldenburg since 1997. Between Dramann and Moenter, the department is losing more than 87 years of combined law-enforcement experience.
The department’s third officer, Doug Wolfer, is expected to remain on the job. The town has hired Adam Boesken, a former Sunman officer, to serve as Oldenburg’s next town marshal.
WRBI listeners will also have a chance to hear directly from Dramann about his career and his final week on the force. He is scheduled to be a guest Friday morning, just after 9:30, on The Daily Pod.
