Debra Brown – Cedar Grove

Debra S. Brown, born April 16, 1956, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at her home in Cedar Grove, Indiana.  She was the beloved daughter of Jeroma C. Brown and the late Keith A. Brown and the devoted mother of Krista M. Brown Rivera and husband Alberto L. Rivera of Haines City, Florida.

 

She attended Cedar Grove and Brookville Elementary and graduated from Brookville High School. She excelled in her classes particularly Special Choir where she competed at State and traveled with her trio to the army camp in Kentucky.  After graduation she entered Ivy Tech in Richmond, IN earning her LPN degree. Immediately she enrolled in the Jewish Hospital College of Nursing in Cincinnati, OH, graduating as a registered nurse and worked in many different units for 20 years. Because of her dedication and love for her patients, she was chosen “Ambassador of The Year” in 1985-1986. Along with this prestigious award, she received a three day weekend in New York City experiencing Central Park, the subway, stage production of Cats and other attractions.

 

Debby lived and worked in Florida until 2013 when she returned to Franklin County and continued her nursing career most recently at Caring First Home Health.  She enjoyed spending time with and taking pictures of all of her family and friends; her passion was music and dancing.  During Holy Week of April 2017, she fulfilled her dream of visiting the Holy Land, deeply strengthening her devout Catholic faith.

 

Debby is survived by five brothers: Dennis A. Brown (Mary Pat), Jeffery Brown (Lucy), Grover Brown (April), Kevin Brown (Lynn) and Jon Brown (friend Cathy Hileman), and sisters Connie Bischoff (Kenny) and Pam Bachus (Tom) and fiancé Dave Wolff, and many cherished nieces and nephews.  Besides her father, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Joey Bachus.

 

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 4 until 8 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville.  Father Sean Danda will officiate a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at Holy Guardian Angels Parish at 10:30 a.m.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
